Baby Sign In Schools

We are now able to provide stimulating, engaging and thought provoking workshops for your PSHE focus; suitable for all year groups from Foundation Stage to Year 6 in Essex and surrounding counties.

Although PSHE is a non- statutory subject it is an "important and necessary part of all pupils’ education” and "all schools should make provision for PSHE, drawing on good practice” (National Curriculum 2014). It is for this reason that we tailor each session to build on the current topics at your school and to meet the needs of your individual children.

PSHE has a key role in relation to Ofsted success and our workshops cover specific areas within PSHE as outlined by the new Ofsted Framework. These areas include;

  • Personal development
  • Behaviour and welfare
  • Social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.

We teach basic sign language skills and deaf awareness to give children a fun introduction and insight into a different culture that most pupils are largely unaware of.

Teaching even just a few signs enables children’s confidence to soar. It is a skill that all children can learn easily and feel instantly proud of their achievement.

Topics covered within the workshops will include;

  • Deaf awareness (all year groups)
  • Learning the Alphabet (suitable for KS1)
  • Emotions and Empathy (all year groups)
  • Bullying and friendships (all year groups)
  • Is this right or wrong? (suitable for KS2)
  • Story sessions (all year groups)

Each session with a class lasts approximately one hour. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to contact us. email:  contactbabysign@aol.com
